About Us

About Us

The surgery was established in Sedgley in 1971. Dr Sarkar originally transformed the surgery from a butchers shop to a small surgery and lived above the premises with his family.

The practice expanded over the years which required the premises to be extended and the services offered by the practice developed.

Dr Sarkar retired and Dr Mahbub took over the surgery in January 2016.

The Surgery Team

Bath Street Medical Centre is a single handed GP practice. Dr Mahbub is the principal GP and runs the surgery along with three male and one female regular locum GPs, one female nurse practitioner and one female Health Care Assistant. We have between us enhanced skills in diabetes, asthma, minor operations, and offer a range of disease management and health promotion clinics.

The surgery employs 15 staff members and also offers community health visitor, midwifery services, and counselling within the practice. The surgery also offers services to housebound patients in the community.

We believe that respect and dignity are the right of everyone, staff patients and members of the public, all information about our patients is strictly confidential and complies with the Data Protection Act 2018.

Mission Statement

To develop and maintain a practice where staff value each other and patients, to ultimately provide a better experience and service for all our patients.
